Welcome to the Bronx Conservatory of Music

"The magic of music in a community"

The Bronx Conservatory of Music is an all-borough music school offering private lessons to children and adults, in piano, voice, guitar, violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, recorder, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, trumpet, trombone, French horn, and percussion and orchestral instruments.

Mission Our mission is to give Bronx families access to the highest quality of music education, in their own neighborhoods, at the lowest possible cost.

Magic What makes us special is our teachers. They are graduates of the Juilliard School, the Manhattan School of Music, Mannes College of Music and the finest conservatories in Europe, the former Soviet Union—and throughout the world! Bronx Conservatory of Music teachers are chosen not only for their achievement as performers, but also for their experience and abilities as teachers. What makes us magic is that our school brings these teachers to families in the Bronx, at tuition costs that are much lower that those of comparable music schools.

Goals The teaching goals of the Bronx Conservatory of Music are to promote personal growth through the understanding and enjoyment of music; to develop performance skills; and to provide valuable social outlets for self-expression for students of all ages, at all levels of music experience.

Program The program of the Bronx Conservatory of Music consists of individual music lessons, ranging from 30 minutes to an hour, in which each student receives one-on-one attention from the teacher In addition to the weekly lesson, students who are at least seven years old are offered a free music theory class. Student recitals are given throughout the year.

Group classes are also available and include: Choir, Music Appreciation/Rhythm, and Ensemble Workshop.

Community The Bronx Conservatory of Music is part of a larger network of performing groups that develops audiences for fine music in the Bronx. The school provides free concerts, featuring faculty and guests artists, to Bronx communities, in partnership with churches and educational institutions.
